Question about characters

I didn't see it posted anywhere, so I thought I should ask to be safe
How many characters is one allowed to have?
And are mythical creatures allowed? (like pegasus, or gryphons)

There can be a total of five characters for now and you can use mythical creatures. Special powers are not aloud though.
